Description:
AAV1-Syn-SaCas9 is a pre-packaged rAAV in serotype 1 (capsid from AAV
serotype 1 and 2xITR from AAV serotype 2) which over-expresses SaCas9
(Cas9 from Staphylococcus
aureus) under human Synapsin promoter. The
size of the commonly used Cas9 from Streptococcus pyogenes (SpCas9) limits its
utility for basic research and therapeutic applications that use the highly
versatile AAV delivery vehicle. SaCas9 which is 1.0 kilobase shorter than SpCas9
can edit the genome with efficiencies and specificity similar to those of SpCas9
and be easily packaged into AAV vehicle. Ready to use format.
