Description:
This recombinant human adenovirus type 5 expresses enhanced green fluorescent
protein (eGFP) under the control of the PGK (phosphoglycerate kinase)
promoter. Green fluorescent protein (GFP), originally isolated from jellyfish,
emits green fluorescence when excited by blue light. Enhanced GFP (eGFP) is a
mutant variant with improved brightness and stability. The recombinant eGFP
adenovirus serves as an ideal control for other recombinant adenoviral
vectors. Because GFP expression is easily visualized by fluorescence
microscopy, this virus can also be used to assess transduction efficiency and
to optimize viral infection conditions in specific cell types. This product is
supplied in a ready-to-use format.
