Description:
GenMute™ siRNA Transfection Reagent for MCF-7 Cells is pre-optimized for efficient delivery of siRNA into MCF-7 cells, a widely used human breast adenocarcinoma cell line. Originally isolated in 1970 from a 69-year-old Caucasian woman, MCF-7 cells retain many characteristics of differentiated mammary epithelium, including estrogen receptor (ER) expression and hormone responsiveness. They are commonly used to study estrogen signaling, breast cancer biology, cell proliferation, apoptosis, and therapeutic responses. MCF-7 cells also express oncogenic pathways such as Wnt7B and respond to cytokines like tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). This reagent provides high transfection efficiency with low cytotoxicity, enabling reliable gene silencing and functional studies in vitro.

– GenMute™ Reagent, 1.0 mL, sufficient for ~833 reactions based on transfecting 20 pmol siRNA or miRNA mimics in a 24-well plate
– GenMute™ Transfection Buffer (5x ), formulated for maximal transfection efficiency, 8.0 mL to make a 40 mL working solution
Refer to the following optimal transfection conditions for maximal silencing on MCF7 cells. GenMute™ reagent, 1.0 mL, is sufficient for ~833 transfections in 24-well plates or ~416 transfections in 6-well plates.
