GenJet™ DNA In Vitro Transfection Reagent for MCF10A Cells is pre-optimized for efficient plasmid DNA delivery into the non-tumorigenic human mammary epithelial cell line, MCF10A.

MCF10A cells are immortalized, non-tumorigenic epithelial cells that retain many characteristics of normal mammary epithelium. The cells express epithelial markers, including sialomucins, cytokeratins, and milk fat globule antigens. They exhibit three-dimensional growth in collagen matrices and form dome-like structures in confluent cultures, reflecting their epithelial differentiation potential. To date, MCF10A cells have shown no evidence of terminal differentiation or cellular senescence under standard culture conditions. The cell line is responsive to insulin, glucocorticoids, cholera toxin, and epidermal growth factor (EGF). Ultrastructural analysis by electron microscopy indicates that MCF10A cells possess characteristics of luminal ductal epithelial cells rather than myoepithelial cells.

Utilizing our proprietary transfection booster conjugation technology, GenJet™ reagent has been specifically formulated to enhance gene delivery into MCF10A cells, achieving transfection efficiencies of up to 50% GFP-positive cells under optimized conditions.
