Description
GenJet™ DNA In Vitro Transfection Reagent for Epithelial Cells is specifically optimized for efficient plasmid DNA delivery into a broad range of epithelial cell types. Through the incorporation of a proprietary epithelial cell–targeting peptide ligand, the reagent exhibits enhanced interaction with epithelial cell surfaces, resulting in improved cellular uptake of DNA complexes and superior transfection efficiency compared with conventional non-targeted formulations. This specialized design enables robust gene expression while maintaining high cell viability, making the reagent well suited for studies involving gene function, signal transduction, protein expression, and cellular engineering in epithelial cells.

The transfection conditions described below have been optimized to achieve maximal transfection efficiency in epithelial cells. One milliliter of GenJet™ Reagent is sufficient for approximately 600–1200 transfections in 24-well plates or 300–600 transfections in 6-well plates, depending on the culture format and amount of DNA used.

Storage Condition
Store at 4°C. When maintained under the recommended storage conditions, the product remains stable for at least 24 months.

Comparison of transfection efficiency in normal human colonic epithelial cells demonstrating the superior performance of the pre-optimized GenJet™ (Ver. II) Reagent. Transfections were carried out according to each manufacturer’s recommended protocol. Briefly, 0.5 µg of the GFP expression plasmid pEGFP-N3 was delivered per well in a 24-well plate using different transfection reagents. Transfection efficiency was evaluated 24 hours post-transfection by quantifying GFP-positive cells under a Nikon Eclipse 2000 fluorescence microscope.
