GenJet™ DNA In Vitro Transfection Reagent for CV-1 Cells is specifically optimized for efficient plasmid DNA transfection in CV-1 cells. CV-1 is a fibroblast-like cell line established from the kidney of an adult African green monkey (Chlorocebus aethiops, formerly Cercopithecus aethiops). Since its establishment in 1964, CV-1 cells have been widely utilized in virology, molecular biology, and gene expression studies. The cell line is particularly well known for its application in simian virus 40 (SV40) research, recombinant DNA technology, and the development of transient gene expression systems. CV-1 cells exhibit adherent growth, robust proliferation, and high susceptibility to a variety of viral infections, making them a valuable model for studies of viral replication, host–pathogen interactions, and transgene expression.

The transfection conditions described below have been optimized to achieve maximal transfection efficiency in CV-1 cells. One milliliter of GenJet™ Reagent is sufficient for approximately 300–600 transfections in 24-well plates or 50–100 transfections in 6-well plates, depending on the culture format and amount of DNA used.

Storage Condition
Store at 4°C. When maintained under the recommended storage conditions, the product remains stable for at least 24 months.
