GenJet™ DNA In Vitro Transfection Reagent for COS Cells is pre-optimized for highly efficient DNA delivery into both COS-1 and COS-7 cells.

COS cells are immortalized African green monkey kidney fibroblast-like cells that constitutively express the SV40 large T antigen, enabling episomal replication of plasmids containing the SV40 origin of replication. As a result, COS cells are widely used for transient gene expression, recombinant protein production, and a broad range of molecular, biochemical, and cell biology studies. COS-1 and COS-7 are the two most commonly utilized derivatives of the original COS cell line.

The transfection conditions described below have been optimized to achieve maximal transfection efficiency in COS cells. Refer to the recommended protocol for efficient gene delivery in both COS-1 and COS-7 cells. One milliliter of GenJet™ reagent is sufficient for approximately 300–600 transfections in 24-well plates or 50–100 transfections in 6-well plates.

Storage Condition
Store at 4 °C. When stored under the recommended conditions, the product is stable for at least 24 months.
