Ad-CMV-SpCas9

Product Category: Human Adenovirus Type 5 (dE1/E3) | Ad-CMV-Cas9 | Ad-CMV-SpCas9
Description:
This recombinant human adenovirus serotype 5 (E1/E3-deleted) expresses a codon-optimized SpCas9 (Streptococcus pyogenes Cas9) nuclease under the control of the CMV promoter. It is designed for efficient genome editing applications when used in combination with a guide RNA (gRNA) targeting the gene of interest.
The Type II CRISPR/Cas system is a powerful and versatile platform for targeted genome engineering. SpCas9, derived from the adaptive immune system of Streptococcus pyogenes, functions as an RNA-guided DNA endonuclease. Directed by a customizable gRNA, Cas9 introduces site-specific double-strand breaks in genomic DNA, enabling precise gene knockout, knock-in, or sequence modification.
Compared to earlier genome editing technologies such as TALENs and zinc finger nucleases (ZFNs), the CRISPR/Cas9 system offers significant advantages in ease of design, efficiency, and scalability. As a result, it has become a widely adopted tool for genome editing in both in vitro and in vivo applications.
Storage Buffer: DMEM with 2% BSA & 2.5% Glycerol
