Description:
AAV8-TBG-Cre is a pre-packaged recombinant AAV (rAAV) vector in serotype 8 (AAV8 capsid with 2× ITRs derived from AAV serotype 2) that expresses Cre recombinase under the control of the liver-specific TBG promoter. The TBG promoter is a hybrid promoter based on the human thyroxine-binding globulin (TBG) promoter and the α1-microglobulin/bikunin enhancer. Approximately 0.8 kb in length, the TBG promoter is widely used to drive robust and liver-specific transgene expression. AAV8-TBG-Cre is particularly suitable for Cre-mediated recombination in hepatocytes and can be used for liver-specific gene knockout, gene activation, lineage tracing, and other Cre/loxP-based studies in vivo.
