Product Category: Pre-made recombinant AAV | AAV(PHP.eB)-Syn-GFP-httQ72 | AAV-Syn-GFP-httQ72
Description:
AAV(PHP.eB)-Syn-GFP-httQ72 is a pre-made recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) packaged with the engineered PHP.eB capsid (with AAV2 ITRs) designed for neuron-specific expression of a GFP-tagged huntingtin (HTT) protein fragment containing 72 CAG repeats (encoding glutamine, Q), representing a pathogenic polyglutamine (polyQ72) expansion associated with Huntington’s disease. Expression is driven by the human synapsin (Syn) promoter, enabling selective and robust transgene expression in neuronal populations.
The PHP.eB capsid enables enhanced blood–brain barrier (BBB) penetration and widespread neuronal transduction following systemic delivery in mice, making it highly suitable for CNS-targeted applications. The GFP fusion allows direct visualization of mutant HTT protein localization, aggregation, and inclusion body formation in neurons. The expanded polyQ72 tract promotes protein misfolding and aggregation, recapitulating key pathological features of Huntington’s disease, including neuronal dysfunction and toxicity.
This vector is particularly well-suited for neuroscience research focused on neuronal pathology, circuit-level studies, and in vivo disease modeling. By restricting expression to neurons, AAV(PHP.eB)-Syn-GFP-httQ72 enables precise investigation of mutant HTT effects in relevant cell types.
Supplied in a ready-to-use format, AAV(PHP.eB)-Syn-GFP-httQ72 provides high neuronal transduction efficiency and consistent expression for both in vitro neuronal cultures and in vivo mouse models.
