Description:
AAVrg-Synapsin-Cre-GFP is a ready-to-use recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) packaged in the engineered retrograde serotype AAVrg (AAV2-retro), which contains the AAVrg capsid and AAV2 inverted terminal repeats (ITRs). This vector expresses a Cre-GFP fusion protein under the control of the human Synapsin promoter, enabling neuron-specific expression in the central and peripheral nervous systems.
AAVrg is an engineered AAV serotype with enhanced retrograde transport capability, allowing efficient transduction of neurons that project to the site of vector administration. The co-expression of Cre recombinase and GFP as a fusion protein enables both Cre-mediated genetic recombination and direct visualization of transduced neurons. As a result, AAVrg-Synapsin-Cre-GFP is widely used for neuronal circuit tracing, neural connectivity mapping, and Cre-dependent genetic manipulation of defined neuronal populations. Supplied in a ready-to-use format.
