Description:
GCaMP6s is a highly sensitive genetically encoded calcium indicator that increases green fluorescence in response to elevated intracellular calcium. Its high sensitivity and slow fluorescence decay make it useful for monitoring calcium dynamics associated with neuronal activity.
The PRSx8 promoter is a synthetic promoter containing eight repeats of a Phox2-responsive regulatory element. It supports preferential transgene expression in Phox2-expressing neurons, including selected noradrenergic and other autonomic neuronal populations. Expression specificity depends on the target tissue and experimental model.
AAV2-PRSx8-GCaMP6s is a pre-packaged recombinant AAV vector containing an AAV serotype 2 capsid and AAV2 inverted terminal repeats (ITRs). It expresses GCaMP6s under the PRSx8 promoter for fluorescence-based monitoring of calcium activity in targeted Phox2-expressing neuronal populations.
