Description:
AAV2-mSncg-Twitch2b is a pre-made recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) packaged in serotype 2 (AAV2 capsid with AAV2 ITRs), designed for targeted expression of the genetically encoded calcium indicator Twitch2b under the control of the mouse gamma-synuclein (mSncg) promoter. This promoter enables preferential expression in specific neuronal subpopulations, including peripheral and sensory neurons.
Twitch2b is a Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET)-based calcium indicator that allows ratiometric and highly sensitive monitoring of intracellular calcium dynamics in live cells. This enables real-time visualization of neuronal activity, synaptic signaling, and calcium-dependent processes with improved signal stability and reduced motion artifacts.
AAV2 provides efficient transduction in a variety of tissues and is widely used for localized delivery, particularly in the central and peripheral nervous systems.
This vector is well-suited for in vitro and in vivo applications involving functional imaging of neuronal activity, calcium signaling, and neurophysiological studies.
