Description:
AAV9-CAG-Tau(P301S) is a pre-made recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) packaged in serotype 9 (AAV9 capsid with AAV2 ITRs), designed for robust expression of human tau protein carrying the pathogenic P301S mutation. Expression is driven by the strong and ubiquitous CAG promoter, enabling high-level transgene expression across a broad range of mammalian cell types, including neurons in the central nervous system.
The P301S mutation is a well-established disease-associated variant linked to aggressive tauopathies, including frontotemporal dementia. It is widely used in experimental models to study tau hyperphosphorylation, aggregation, neurofibrillary tangle formation, and progressive neurodegeneration.
This vector is well-suited for both in vitro and in vivo applications, investigating mechanisms of tau pathology and for evaluating therapeutic strategies targeting tau-driven neurodegenerative diseases.
