Description:
AAV9-CAG-shRNA(SCRM) is a pre-packaged recombinant AAV serotype 9 vector (AAV9 capsid with AAV2 inverted terminal repeats [ITRs]) that expresses a non-targeting scramble shRNA under the control of the CAG promoter (also known as the CBA promoter). The CAG promoter combines the cytomegalovirus (CMV) early enhancer element with the chicken β-actin promoter to drive robust transgene expression in a wide range of mammalian cell types.
This vector serves as a negative control for shRNA-mediated gene knockdown experiments in both cultured cells and animal models, enabling assessment of vector-related effects independent of sequence-specific gene silencing.
