AAV-CAG-mCherry-P2A-hSNCA (Serotype 9)

Product Category: Pre-made recombinant AAV | AAV-CAG-mCherry-P2A-hSNCA | AAV9-CAG-mCherry-P2A-hSNCA
Description:
AAV9-CAG-mCherry-P2A-hSNCA is a pre-made recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) packaged in serotype 9 (AAV9 capsid with AAV2 ITRs), designed for robust co-expression of the red fluorescent protein mCherry and human alpha-synuclein (hSNCA). Expression is driven by the strong and ubiquitous CAG promoter, enabling high-level transgene expression across a broad range of mammalian cell types, including neurons in the central nervous system.
The mCherry and hSNCA coding sequences are linked via a self-cleaving P2A peptide, allowing efficient bicistronic expression and near-equimolar production of both proteins from a single transcript. The mCherry reporter enables direct visualization of transduced cells and facilitates monitoring of expression, distribution, and cellular morphology.
Human alpha-synuclein, encoded by the SNCA gene, is a key protein implicated in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease and related synucleinopathies. This construct supports modeling of alpha-synuclein overexpression, aggregation, and associated neurodegenerative processes.
This vector is well-suited for both in vitro and in vivo studies of synucleinopathy mechanisms and for evaluating therapeutic strategies targeting alpha-synuclein-driven neurodegeneration.
