AAV-CAG-EGFP-P2A-TAU(P301L) (Serotype 9)

Product Category: Pre-made recombinant AAV | AAV-CAG-EGFP-P2A-TAU(P301L) | AAV9-CAG-EGFP-P2A-TAU(P301L)
Description:
AAV9-CAG-EGFP-P2A-TAU(P301L) is a pre-made recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) packaged in serotype 9 (AAV9 capsid with AAV2 ITRs), designed for robust co-expression of enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) and the human tau protein carrying the pathogenic P301L mutation. Expression is driven by the strong and ubiquitous CAG promoter, enabling high-level transgene expression across a broad range of cell types, including neurons in the central nervous system.
The EGFP and TAU(P301L) coding sequences are linked via a self-cleaving P2A peptide, allowing efficient bicistronic expression and equimolar production of both proteins from a single transcript. The P301L mutation in tau is widely associated with tauopathies, including frontotemporal dementia, and is commonly used to model neurodegenerative disease characterized by tau aggregation and neurofibrillary tangle formation.
This vector is well-suited for in vivo and in vitro studies of tau pathology, neurodegeneration, and therapeutic intervention strategies. The EGFP reporter enables real-time visualization of transduced cells and facilitates tracking of expression and distribution.
