Description:
The AAV8 Empty Capsid is a pre-made recombinant
AAV (rAAV) capsid in serotype 8.
The production of AAV empty capsids involves the assembly of viral capsid
proteins without incorporating a DNA genome inside. The process requires
precise manipulation of AAV vector production systems to ensure efficient
capsid assembly while limiting genome packaging.
Manufactured using a proprietary AAV
packaging protocol and purified through two rounds of CsCl isopycnic
ultracentrifugation, this product ensures 100% empty capsid content, as
verified by Refeyn Mass Photometer analysis.
Used as controls in research, manufacturing processes, immunogenicity studies
or quality control during therapeutic AAV production.
The AAV8 empty capsid was diluted 100- to 1000-fold before
loading into the cartridge for mass photometry analysis. Sterile PBS was used
both as the diluent with the
Thyroglobulin (660 kDa) for mass calibration.
