Description:
This recombinant human adenovirus type 5 expresses
the
mitochondrial targeting sequence from subunit VIII of human cytochrome C oxidase
(Mito) fusion with
photoactivatable variant of GFP
(PA-GFP) under CMV promoter. The Mito sequence is fused to the
5'-end of PA-GFP that
increases fluorescence 100
times when excited by 488-nanometer light and remains stable for days under
aerobic conditions.
The Mito
sequence targets the Mito-PA-GFP fusion protein to the host cell’s mitochondria.
Mito-PA-GFP labels mitochondria in a way that can be regulated by photo
activation.
